Overall Winner battle edges closer to the finish

With many mid-sized boats now finished the leader board is starting to settle.

Overnight many of the mid-sized boats snuck in to Southport Marina being fuelled by a light but consistent westerly breeze keeping them all moving at good speed.  Overnight finishers include About Time, Primitive Cool, Chutzpah, Showtime, Yarrandi, St. Jude, Pretty Woman, UBS Wild Thing, Espresso Forte, Enterprise and Merlin.

With this many boats now finished the race, it means that the fight for the Overall Winner is edging closer my the minute.  At 06:00 this morning (subject to change as more finish) the IRC Leader board holds Bruce Taylor's Chutzpah in first place having a 23 minute lead on corrected time with current Tattersall Cup winner Matt Allen's Ichi Ban in second.

Currently, third place is held by Shane Kearns Komatsu Azzurro (2017 Overall Winner) which overnight has been steadily climbing the leader board and has proven many times to be a strong finisher.  "Matt Allan always says, no matter where he is the only boat that he checks at the back of the fleet is us" said Shane before they departed on this years race.
