The only female skipper in this year’s Sydney Gold Coast Race, Alison Thompson’s Next finished second in the Sydney 38 division of this year’s Sydney Mooloolaba Race and the boat finished with the same result in the 2002 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race under a previous owner. Sailing with a mixed crew of experienced Sydney 38 sailors, they are hoping to again finish with a good result in this one-design class.
