Cockatoo Ridge - The Goat

Cockatoo Ridge - The Goat

The name “The Goat” comes from the affectionate nickname of the original Wild Oats (Farr 43) which owners Foye and Oeckman owned and successfully campaigned for ten years with Roger Hickman.

The Goat is now infamously known for winning the 2007 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race in the Sydney 38 Division, after hitting a submerged rock off Tasman Island and loosing its bulb.  The Goat’s other success has been a win in Division in the Audi Winter Series (2007) and a 2nd in 2008 Series.
