Yendys

Geoff Ross’ purpose-built Reichel/Pugh 55 Yendys was the first grand prix yacht out of McConaghy International’s boatyard in China, being launched just before the Rolex Trophy in 2006 in a bid to score a second overall win in the Rolex Sydney Hobart.  Ross had claimed this honour with his previous Yendys in 1999.   With his new boat he finished 6th IRC overall and 1st in Division B.  Since then Ross has recorded some notable results, including 2nd in division 1 in 2006 Rolex Trophy and winner of the IRC Racing division at the 2007 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week.  In the 2007 Rolex Sydney Hobart, she placed 3rd in Division B.  In the 2008 Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race she finished third over the line and 2nd in IRC Division 1.  Yendys carries a sail number of 1836 - the year Geoff's ancestors first arrived in Hobart via convict transportation.
