Yendys

Geoff Ross’ purpose-built Reichel/Pugh 55 Yendys was the first grand prix yacht out of McConaghy International’s boatyard in China, being launched just before the Rolex Trophy Series in 2006. Ross has recorded some notable results including 6th IRC overall and 1st in Division B in the Rolex Sydney Hobart 2006, 3rd in Division B in the 2007 Rolex Sydney Hobart, 2nd in division 1 in 2006 Rolex Trophy and winner of the IRC Racing division at the 2007 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. Yendys has also been competitive in the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race over the years including finishing third over the line and 2nd in IRC Division 1 in 2008; and notching up another second in IRC Division 1 last year after finishing fifth across the line.

Since undergoing keel modifications just prior to last year’s Rolex Trophy Series, Yendys has performed strongly with a win in the Rolex Trophy Passage Series, sixth in IRC Division 1 of last year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart, finished second in the CYCA’s Blue Water Pointscore, and claimed the overall win in the Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Yacht Race in March this year.
