Phil Arnall is the immediate past commodore of the NCYC which always fields a strong entry for major offshore races on the eastern seaboard. Last year Phil and his son come sailing master/navigator, Richard, sailed this silver hulled Corby 43 to 20th overall in the 2014 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race for fifth in Division 2 and 10th overall under ORCi. The result was a happy one for the Arnalls, as the previous year electrical problems forced Anger Management out of the race. The pair went on to also contest their and the boat’s maiden Rolex Sydney Hobart in December, finishing 53rd overall and 14th in Division 2. Regulars on the offshore scene, and now on their third boat named Anger Management, the Arnalls also sailed to Sydney last year to contest the Cabbage Tree Island Race ahead of the Hobart, and finished 15th overall from 36 entries. Phil, who turns 70 on July 18, is planning a long lunch at Southport Yacht Club to celebrate and is hoping to make it a double celebration with a winning result.
