Frantic

One of three TP52s in last year’s race, former Wallabies winger, Mick Martin, sailed Frantic (the former Strewth) to 14th overall and seventh overall in ORCi. The TP52’s are enjoying a revival and this year there will be six on the start line pushing each other all the way to Southport. Martin says he is looking forward to seeing all the TP52s, Cookson 50s and Rogers’ “come out to play and having some fun in the sun.”  Since purchasing the yacht in 2012, the Novocastrian has also enjoyed contesting the Rolex Sydney Hobart, going on to finish 24th overall and sixth in IRC Division 1 in 2013 and 19th on line, 48th overall and ninth in Division 1 last year. Martin tasted his first major offshore success when he won both IRC and ORCi overall in the 2013 Gosford-Lord Howe Island race, in which he finished third on line and fourth overall this year.
