About Time

About Time Cookson 50 could be the fastest genuine cruiser racer going. All carbon but with a comfortable interior and cockpit she was the ideal replacement for Cookson 12 About Time. Most crew have been sailing in the team for many years and are enjoying the challenges of this high performance cruiser/racer.

After the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race About Time will be put into cruise mode and set out to explore the reef over two weeks before competing at Hamilton Island Race week with the full race crew. The boat will then head back to Sydney to compete in the CYCA's Ocean Pointscore summer series using what they have learnt to fight for the title. With new Doyle sails the team are looking to be able to achieve some faster speeds and push the boats performance.

Owner Julian Farren-Price is feeling confident in the boat and crew heading in to the summer racing season to come.

"I don’t know that we have any edge on anyone, we still have the L plates on. It took many years to get the best out of our beloved Cookson 12 and the 50 will be if anything more difficult. Our main assets are a fabulously well built boat from Cookson and designed by Farr, top set of Doyle Sails, great guidance from Shane Guanaria and most importantly a great group of people to sail with who I am happy to be at sea with. All enthusiastic amateurs I am proud to say" said Julian.
