Dolce

Dolce

Along with Scavenger, Dolce (the former Vendetta) was the first of the Inglis 47s to launch and the design is renowned for its downwind qualities. This boat was built, owned and raced with success by Alex and Paul Cittadini. Pierre Gal bought the boat with Doug Gayford in 2012 and in 2013 revitalised it with a new deck and interior. Gal completely rebuilt it to change her from a pure racer to a cruiser-racer. A prominent sports boat sailor, he is also a dab hand at offshore racing, finishing third in Performance Racing at Airlie Beach last year with Dolce. Will be interesting to see where she fits in with the pack this race. Incidentally, the Cittadinis loaned the mould of this yacht to Grant Wharington to build his first Wild Thing, which took line honours and the race record in the 1990 Melbourne Hobart and has more recently been racing as Wild One with success.
