Hartbreaker

Hartbreaker

Hartbreaker was renamed as a play on her builder, Mal Hart’s name, and because cardiologist Tony Walton has a special interest in hearts. The second part of the name comes because under her original name, Hardys Secret Mens Business, she was badly damaged in the pre-start of the first race at Hamilton Island Race Week in 2008 - and then fell of the truck that was taking her for repair. Walton purchased the yacht with Alan Breidahl from a second owner in early March 2013 when she was known as Shamrock. Under that name, she won the triple of line honours, IRC and PHS in the 2008 Melbourne to Hobart race. Last contested the Gold Coast race in 2009 and finished 37th overall and sixth in Division 1. Under Walton and Breidahl's ownership, the yacht finished 66th overall and 12th in Division 1 of the 70th edition of the Sydney Hobart. Breidahl skippered Hartbreaker to fifth overall in the Apollo Bay Race in May.
