At 76, ‘Sir Robbo’ Robertson is making another offshore comeback, purchasing the former Concubine, which was raced by South Australians Jason Ward and Shevaun Bruland, who took the boat in the 2014 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast race and finished 30th overall then 43rd overall in the 2014 Hobart. ‘Sir Robbo’ a great ambassador for sailing in Queensland, has owned and raced many yachts of varying sizes; Hot Prospect 2, Hot August Night, Queensland Maid/Sanctuary Cove, Corroboree, Last Picasso, Monkey Magic, Eureka (charter), Flight of the Gull, Beautiful Noise and Lunchtime Legend over so many years with some great results.

Robbo’s last major race was the 2012 Rolex Sydney Hobart when his former Beneteau 40, Lunchtime Legend. Robbo finished 17th overall and won Division 3, after placing 12th overall in the 2011 race when he scored equal third in Division, as fellow Beneteau 40, Two True, finished with the identical corrected time. His best Hobart result was third overall with Queensland Maid in 1991. He has serious sailing cred with many Hobart, Sydney Mooloolaba, SSORC, Hamilton Island, Airlie Beach and other events under the belt, scoring many top three results, but has not raced to the Gold Coast since 1992, with Corroboree.
