Chinese Whisper
On selling his TP52, Fomo, to Sam Haynes, Rupert Henry purchased Jethou, from Europe in time for the Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race last year, renaming her Chinese Whisper, and finished second on line and second overall, living up to her promise. Took line honours in the Flinders islet Race last September, missing Loki’s race record by 15 minutes - and finished third overall, then won line honours in October’s Newcastle Bass Island Race and finished second on line to Ichi Ban in the Cabbage Tree Island Race. Placed fifth on line, fifth overall and first in Division 0 of the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart. Chinese Whisper lost the BWPS (which it had led marginally) to Balance, which won the Hobart overall, so took the trophy, but Henry toppled Balance for the ORCi trophy in the series. As Jethou, the JV62 won the Maxi division at Palma Vela in 2012, adding victories at Copa del Rey, Les Voiles de St. Tropez, the Maxi Rolex World Championship and Giraglia Rolex Cup. She is highly rated to win the race overall.
