Concubine
A new Concubine arrived by ship last November for Jason Ward, who in 2014, following many years of one-design racing, contested the 2014 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race with his former Concubine, a Beneteau 40 (which will contest this race as Bravo), and finished 30th overall and fifth in Division 3. Contested his first Sydney Hobart in 2014 with wife, Shevaun Bruland, and finished 43rd overall and 18th in Division 3. Last year, Ward repeated the experience with this brand new Mills 45, finishing 39th overall, the South Australian’s first major outing with the yacht. In February, he finished second to Geoff Boettcher’s Secret Men’s Business in the Adelaide Port Lincoln race and mirrored that result at Port Lincoln Race Week. Now broken in, will be interesting to see what Concubine brings to the table in this year’s race with a crew bolstered by the likes of Micky Slinn, Nick Partridge and Adam Hawkins.
