A competent performer in coastal races, Dennis Cooper sailed Amante to PHS sixth overall in the 2015 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, and fourth in Division 4 in IRC. Cooper is a regular in CYCA events, sailing to eighth overall in the 2016/2017 OPS, with a sixth in ORCi. He also finished eighth overall and second in Division 2 of the 2015 Pittwater Coffs race after finishing divisional second in the 2013 race. On returning home after finishing PHS 15th overall in January’s Pittwater Coffs race, Amante suffered a fatality when Mal Lennon was tragically washed overboard in foul weather.
